Getting Started

Who is Niche Leaders for?

Niche Leaders is a strategic advisory firm for established experts who have reached an inflection point. Our clients are founders, consultants, physicians, executives, and paid speakers who are earning well and performing at a high level, but sense that how they are being seen no longer reflects where they actually are. They are not stuck in the conventional sense. They are ready to build something designed for the next three to five years.

If you are still building your credibility, this is not the right place yet. If you have built something real and are ready for it to be recognized at the level you have earned, this is exactly where you need to be.

How do I know if I'm ready for this?

There are three moments that tend to bring people to Niche Leaders.

The first is a plateau: revenue or opportunities have flatlined and your message is no longer doing the work it used to. The second is a comparison gap: someone you respect published a book or repositioned their authority, and you feel the contrast. The third is a message problem: the work you are doing is not being seen or articulated at the level you know it deserves.

All three lead to the same place. If any of these feel familiar, you are probably ready. The Authority Gap Assessment™ is a good way to find out for certain.

What is the first step to working with Niche Leaders?

The Authority Gap Assessment™ is the preferred starting point. It is free, takes about five minutes, and surfaces the pattern that is most likely holding your authority back. Based on your results, you will be routed to the right next conversation for where you are.

If you already know you are ready and have Nicole's contact information, you are welcome to reach out directly at nicole@nicheleaders.com.

Is there a free consultation before I commit to anything?

Yes. After the Authority Gap Assessment™, qualified prospects are invited to a free Discovery Call. This is a 20-to-30-minute conversation, not a sales pitch. Its job is to confirm fit, answer the questions that matter to you, and make sure the right next step is clear before any commitment is made.

Strategy & Positioning

What is the Breakthru Accelerator™?

The Breakthru Accelerator™ is Niche Leaders' primary engagement, and it is where the real work happens. Before a single word of manuscript is written, nine strategic decisions are made inside the proprietary Breakthru Canvas™ framework: positioning, brand direction, business model alignment, intellectual property structure, and book plan are built together, in sequence.

The result is not just a book idea. It is a complete strategic foundation for your authority platform and the business you are ready to lead next. The Accelerator can be delivered as a two-day in-person intensive or across five to six Zoom sessions. The format is not the offer. The transformation is.

93% of Niche Leaders clients publish within one year. 99% complete the process.

What is the Breakthru Canvas™?

The Breakthru Canvas™ is Nicole Gebhardt's proprietary strategic framework and the foundation of every Breakthru Accelerator™ engagement. It ensures that nine essential decisions about your positioning, message, intellectual property, offer structure, and book direction are made before any writing begins.

It is not a writing tool. It is an authority-design tool. No client moves to the publishing phase until the Canvas is complete. This is why the process works, and why the results are consistent.

How is Niche Leaders different from a book coach or publisher?

Niche Leaders is a strategic advisory firm, not a book coach, publisher, or production service. Most clients arrive thinking they need a book. What they actually need is clarity on the one idea that organizes everything, and a message, offer, brand, and business designed around it. The book emerges from that strategic clarity.

We are one team for the whole process: strategy, brand, book development, and publishing in sequence. Nothing gets handed off. Nothing gets lost. That is the advantage. Not that we are different from publishers or coaches, but that we do all of it, and we do it in the right order.

Should I write a book for my business?

The right question is not whether to write a book. It is whether the strategic foundation is in place before you write it.

Most business books underperform because the author clarified their positioning, offer, and business model after writing, not before. When the strategy is built first, the book becomes a strategic asset designed to travel ahead of you and open doors. When it is not, the book becomes a credential that collects dust.

At Niche Leaders, nine strategic decisions are made before writing begins. That is what makes the difference.

How do I know when I have outgrown my current positioning?

The clearest signal is a gap between the level you are operating at and the level the market is recognizing. You may be getting transactional work when you should be doing strategic work. You may be serving clients who are smaller than where you want to be. You may still be getting introduced by what you used to do rather than by the authority you are carrying now.

Most established experts describe it as a quiet frustration, not a crisis. The work is good. The business is running. But something is not translating the way it should. That is the inflection point Niche Leaders was built to address.

Writing, Editing & AI

When does the actual writing begin?

Writing begins only after the Breakthru Canvas™ is complete. That means nine strategic decisions about your positioning, offer, audience, intellectual property, and book direction have been made first.

This is not a delay. It is the reason 93% of Niche Leaders clients publish within one year and 99% complete the process. When clients know exactly what they are building and why, the writing moves. When they do not, it stalls.

Is the book AI-generated?

No. Niche Leaders produces human-led, human-written work. AI has its uses, and we are honest about what it can and cannot do. What it cannot do is replace the strategic thinking, voice calibration, editorial judgment, and deep knowledge of your business that make a book worth publishing and worth handing to the people you most want to reach.

Our team of 8 to 11 experts per engagement includes developmental editors, story consultants, designers, and publishing specialists. The work reflects you, not a prompt.

What if I already have a manuscript or existing content?

Existing content, frameworks, programs, and draft manuscripts are part of the picture, not the starting point. The Breakthru Accelerator™ ensures that whatever exists is evaluated strategically before anything is carried forward.

Clients who arrive with an existing manuscript are offered a Manuscript Review. A senior editor assesses whether the draft serves your business goals strategically, not just whether it is well written. In some cases the manuscript becomes the foundation. In others, the Accelerator reveals a stronger direction. The review determines which path is right.

Publishing & Rights

What is Niche Press™?

Niche Press™ is Niche Leaders' professional publishing imprint. It executes the publishing strategy once the strategic foundation built inside the Breakthru Accelerator™ is complete. Niche Press handles full production: editorial, design, distribution through Amazon and IngramSpark, and launch support.

Publishing is always the final visible evidence of strategic work that happened first. Niche Press exists to ensure that execution matches the strategy, and that the book reflects the level you have earned.

Who owns the rights to my book?

You do. Always. Authors retain 100% of their rights: royalties, master files, wholesale print, derivative versions, licensing, translations, and distribution. There are no minimum book orders. No strings attached. The work is yours.

How long does the publishing process take?

The full process, from the Breakthru Accelerator™ through publishing, varies by client. What we can tell you is that 93% of Niche Leaders clients publish within one year of beginning the engagement, and 99% complete the process.

That track record exists because the strategy is built first. When clients know exactly what the book needs to do before writing begins, the work moves with clarity and intention instead of circling back to answer questions that should have been settled before the first chapter was drafted.

Can I sell my book and keep the revenue?

Yes. Authors set their own retail pricing, retain all royalties, and can run profitable funnels and giveaways without restriction. You can also purchase wholesale print quantities for events, gifting, or resale. The book is yours to use however it best serves your business.

Business, Offers & Speaking

How do consultants and physicians use a book to grow their business?

A strategically positioned book changes how you get introduced, who reaches out, and what they are already willing to believe before the first conversation happens. For consultants and physicians, the most consistent outcomes are: commanding higher fees, attracting better-fit clients, opening doors to speaking engagements and media, and building a platform that generates opportunities without requiring your constant presence.

The book does not create the expertise. It makes the expertise visible and portable. That is the difference between a credential that sits on a shelf and a strategic asset that travels into rooms before you do.

How does a book help me get on bigger stages?

A book gives event organizers something to point to, and more importantly, something to hand to decision-makers before your name ever comes up in a room. A strategically positioned book signals that you are the recognized leader in your field, not just a practitioner with good ideas.

The clients who build the most stage traction through Niche Leaders are the ones whose book was designed from the start to travel into rooms ahead of them. That design decision happens inside the Breakthru Accelerator™, before writing begins.

How do I control how I get introduced in my industry?

Most established experts are still being introduced by what they used to do, not by the authority they are actually carrying now. The Breakthru Accelerator™ addresses this directly. When your message, offer, brand, and business are designed to work together, the way you get introduced changes because the way you talk about yourself changes first.

The book accelerates this because it does the positioning work before you walk into the room. It arrives first, it frames the conversation, and it establishes who you are before anyone has to ask.

What makes a business book actually generate revenue?

Three things: the right idea, the right strategic foundation, and a business designed to receive the opportunities the book creates. Most business books underperform because only the first piece was in place before writing began.

The Breakthru Accelerator™ ensures all three are built together. When the book is finished, it is not a standalone project. It is a strategic asset connected to an offer ecosystem, a message platform, and a business model designed for where you are going next. Niche Leaders has helped more than 275 business leaders across seven countries build exactly that.

Marketing & Launch

What is the Authority Gap Assessment™?

The Authority Gap Assessment™ is a free online diagnostic that surfaces the pattern most likely holding your authority back. It takes about five minutes and names what most established experts have been feeling but could not quite articulate. Your results are specific to your situation and route you to the right next step based on where you are and what you are ready for.

It is the preferred starting point for everyone who is new to Niche Leaders.

What happens after the book is published?

Publishing is the beginning, not the finish line. Niche Leaders clients who publish have a strategically positioned platform that supports speaking, media, premium client attraction, and business development for years. What you build on top of the book depends on the strategy built inside the Breakthru Accelerator™.

For many clients, the book launches a chapter that looks nothing like what they had before: new markets, new fees, new introductions, new opportunities. That is what happens when the strategy was built first.

Does Niche Leaders help with launching and marketing the book?

Yes. The publishing package through Niche Press™ includes a bestseller campaign, press release, Amazon and IngramSpark distribution, and fulfillment setup. Launch support is built into the execution, not treated as an afterthought.

The most effective launches are the ones where the positioning, the message, and the audience have been clearly defined before the book goes to press. That happens inside the Breakthru Accelerator™, which is why the launch work connects to a strategy rather than starting from scratch.

Still have questions? The Authority Gap Assessment™ is the fastest way to find out where you stand and what the right next step is.

"Just a quick update ... I am speaking for a small conference in Ft Wayne on Monday - they are buying 35 books.  I am speaking for the Women in Energy Conference on November 6 and they bought 300.  TrueU buys books for every class I teach now, so that is a few hundred every year. All to say, writing Forces at Work was one of the best decisions I've made and I am so grateful for all of your help along the way."

"It's not like, ‘Here’s how you put 35,000 words into a book.’ It’s everything else like, ‘Should you [even] write 35,000 words?’ Nicole got me thinking about low-ticket offers and medium-ticket offers too. I've only done list building or 'become my client,' nothing in between. To have the full [marketing] system and move people along, you've got to have the in-between."

"I often say that my book-writing experience felt like being on a train, looking out the window at all the mistakes I would have made. And it’s true. I kept thinking, “I would’ve never thought of that,” or “I would’ve completely fumbled that,” or “That would’ve been totally wrong if I’d done it on my own.”

It wasn’t the book I initially wanted to write; it was the book I should write for my audience – while still honoring the original inspiration behind it. And I’m so proud of the result. It became something actionable for me – a real point of leverage in my business, rather than just a fun exercise of getting my thoughts on paper. It's already been two years and I’m still using it as active leverage in my business.
