As a decorated F-18 pilot and Top Gun instructor, Ed had the credibility and discipline to succeed. But he also had the humility to admit his limitations. But after arguing it out, and pacing a bit, Ed remembered his own coaching advice. He'd had students argue with him when he knew he was right. So he stopped himself and said, "I'm just going to do it."
The moment he moved that story, the entire book came together. That opening chapter now regularly moves people to tears within the first few pages. Readers tell him they couldn't put it down.
